Bianca’s Journey to Balance

Bianca's transformation to Raw Vegan

After One Year Raw Vegan

Hi There! I’m Bianca and this is my story of my journey to balance. The above picture is a year apart in time and the result of my transitioning to a completely Raw Vegan Diet.

I’ve pursued a vegan lifestyle for almost half a decade. Enjoying so many delicious vegan renditions of my favorite foods was a regularity for me. This included pastas, pizza, faux meat, potatoes, beans, rice…the works! I have been cooking vegan for years and loved creating so many exciting dishes that were as filling as they were delectable. This was exciting to be engaging in a lifestyle that I felt was better because it excluded meat. I felt really good for years and was proud of my accomplishment to leave all animal by-products behind.

… a “Healthy Vegan”?

This was healthier no doubt, but I didn’t have the slightest clue about what it meant to be a “healthy vegan”. Being vegan doesn’t necessarily equate to healthy. The foods I named above are especially guilty of tricking us into thinking they’re healthy because of a lack of meat. But these foods are just as nutrient deficient as many animal based cooked foods too. And this is because they’re cooked, or processed, or starch-filled.

These were things I never thought twice about, while also working out five days a week, because I felt “as healthy as can be”. But there were parts to my life that did not mirror a healthy diet, especially my mood. It’s not my pride to share that for my entire life I suffered severe mood swings. Fits of rage, anger, and depression could sweep through at any moment. Exercise, yoga, and mindfulness helped manage this, but nothing “cured” it.

I have a background in mental health. And I’ve known that mood is linked to food but I never thought anything was wrong with my diet. After watching a video on 70-year-old Raw Vegan, I was amazed at her health and wellness compared to that of her husband. (The video I watched is here.)

This got my wheels turning. There had to be something to “Raw Eating” that us “traditional vegans” were missing. I didn’t look like that. My mood still swung all over. My body didn’t reflect the hours of exercise I put into it. What is so different and what does it take to get there?

Transitioning to Raw Veganism

I told Bryson about my ideas on “going raw”, as a joke. Because I knew it’s not easy to change from eating cooked food your entire life to none at all. That was an obvious sacrifice I wasn’t really willing to make for many years in my mind. We looked into it a little and I learned a lot. With his degree in Health Exercise and Sports Science and my experience educating about mindfully eating with nutrition, some things just started to click.

So “a few years” happened in just a few months. I explored some recipes online. We watched a VERY inspiring video by Dr. Sebi that dramatically motivated our transition. (This video is found here.)

There wasn’t anything that made MORE sense than to transition to a Raw Vegan lifestyle. That is, take the “cooked” out of everything and remove processed foods completely. No one could argue with me on why we should eat cooked food when that strips foods of the nutrients we’re “supposedly” receiving from them. I took matters into my own hands and started creating raw elements and fully raw dishes to supplement our vegan lifestyle with.

A New Person Emerges

It was a gradual transition, but then swift once it’s effects took place. The most obvious was my body. I had loved it before and thought it looked great… until I went Raw Vegan! I lost 35 pounds in just two months. No extra working out necessary. The weight LITERALLY FELL OFF. I worked out less and lost even more…

Along with that, my skin cleared up. And then my mood swings started to become less frequent, until completely non-existent. I have emotions, but I control them now. They don’t control me anymore. I felt balance and equanimity unlike ever before… the kind that you feel leaving yoga but never needing to step on the mat.

I attribute all this to our change in diet, which ultimately led to a change in lifestyle. My partying stopped. My connectedness to my life became larger than ever before. I felt alive in ways that I never thought imaginable. I also was experiencing synchronicities and incredible spiritual healing that is almost indescribable in words.

You Are What You Eat…

We become what we consume… that is a fact. When we started eating with “life force”, life force became us, unmistakably. It was such an incredible transformation that all I have is passion and fervor to share this with the world. It saddens me to see so many with health problems, illnesses, and fatigue.

I have energy, health, and wellness in ways unfathomable compared to the last decade of my life!

You too can experience similar transformation and bliss that becomes natural with a transition to a Raw Vegan Diet. I’m here to help inspire, educate, and motivate the changes you wish to see in yourself that will balance your body, mind, and being like it did mine!

Food is thy medicine,” so let it heal! But don’t forget to enjoy yourself along the way. We’re in this together and it’s my honor to share every bit of what I have to help you reach your own degree of HEALTH, WEALTH, and HAPPINESS with RAW FOOD!
